In her former role as an roadway design engineer for IDOT, Kim Cummins was selected to be part of the first team at IDOT to perform Road Safety Assessments (RSA) statewide and soon after became an RSA instructor. Kim has been the owner of Cummins Engineering Corporation (CEC) in Springfield, Illinois since 2015. She and her team at CEC have helped many county highway departments in their successful pursuit of HSIP funding. Kim is passionate about seeking out design solutions that maximize roadway capacity and performance but also minimize the safety risks and vulnerabilities of its users.
