ASR Alkali-Silica Reaction is a major cause of the deterioration of highway structures and pavements in the United States. ASR is causing cracking of our concrete structures and many times is misdiagnosed. Early Identification and early mitigation can help prevent ASR from expanding. This presentation covers the identification and mitigation of ASR. Early treatment for controlling ASR can be achieved by local maintenance crews.
