Short Bio

Md Shafiqul Islam is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Michigan State University. He is currently working on the gravel road project, which focuses on chemical stabilization, lifecycle assessment, and environmental characterization. He completed his MSc from the University of Wyoming with his thesis on shale-pile behavior through full-scale static load testing, dynamic testing, and finite element analysis. He is also interested in pavement geotechnics, soil stabilization, numerical modeling, foundation, and anchor systems.
