Safety Workshop: Maintaining a Safer Roadway ( 2 PDH Credits)

Local agency maintenance forces are in the best position to be the “eyes and ears” of the road when it comes to identifying safety issues. This training will focus on maintenance safety solutions that local maintenance forces can implement on a daily basis to address safety issues related to elements such as shoulder drop-offs, right-of-way obstructions, striping and signing, guardrails, mowing, sweeping, patching, drainage, winter maintenance, etc. It will include a hands-on case study. It will also discuss a process that can be utilized to improve safety through policy and procedure changes.

Alkali-Silica Reaction ASR Identification and Mitigation (1 PDH Credit)

ASR Alkali-Silica Reaction is a major cause of the deterioration of highway structures and pavements in the United States. ASR is causing cracking of our concrete structures and many times is misdiagnosed. Early Identification and early mitigation can help prevent ASR from expanding. This presentation covers the identification and mitigation of ASR. Early treatment for controlling ASR can be achieved by local maintenance crews.

From Fiction to Field: Meet Your Virtual Assistant Engineer

Imagine a future where your virtual assistant does more than manage your daily schedule—it also assists in gathering, organizing, and analyzing data and reports for infrastructure projects, enhancing safety and supporting decision-making processes.

This session provides a peek into a world where AI virtual assistant engineers are as common as ALEXA and how this reality is closer than ever.

This session is presented by Dynamic Infrastructure (DI), which provides counties across the USA with innovative tools to effectively reduce risks, streamline operations, and save valuable office time.

Regardless of the size of your CIP, planning and managing your capital projects is intricate and demanding. For local and regional agencies, efficiently managing projects poses unique difficulties, primarily due to limited resources. Too many manual processes can make it hard to find information and keep all project participants on the same page. It can also make reporting project status and outcomes to your commission or executives a tedious task. This session will discuss how your agency can use technology to facilitate that process.
